Data Engineering Lead

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to play a pivotal role in our technology transformation. As a key member of our team, you will oversee the design, development, and implementation of our data analytics platform, driving technology evolution and spearheading the migration and modernisation of analytics technology and data models.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive the technology transition, modernising analytics technology and data models to support business growth.
  2. Provide hands-on technical guidance across the development lifecycle, fostering collaboration and delivering for the analytics community.
  3. Design scalable processes and data architectures aligned with business objectives, security, governance, and scalability.
  4. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to standards.
  5. Define coding standards, best practices, and development processes.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Data Engineer.
  2. Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  3. Experience mentoring or leading teams.
  4. Deep understanding of data design principles and database technologies.
  5. AWS experience essential; Databricks experience highly desirable.
  6. Familiarity with Data Visualisation tools.
  7. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
