Job Description

We are seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Lewisham, London. As a 1:1 support worker, you will work closely with a child with autism, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential social skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the child in engaging with lessons and developing social skills.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to working with children who require additional support.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
