Job Summary

The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced neurosurgeon to join our team as a Consultant Cranial Neurosurgeon. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and to be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert neurosurgical services, including the assessment, management, and follow-up of patients with cranial neurosurgery conditions. They will also participate in the neurotrauma service and be expected to perform on-call emergency and urgent neurosurgical work.

The appointed candidate will be fully involved in neurosurgical services and will participate as a leading member of the multidisciplinary team for the assessment, management, and follow-up of patients with neurosurgery conditions (cranial). They will also be expected to participate in a 1:9 on-call rota to provide cover for cranial neurosurgery.

  • GMC Registration
  • Inclusion on Specialist Register for neurosurgery or, if in training, eligible for inclusion on the Register within 6 months
  • FRCS or equivalent
