Lead Psychological Therapist

As a Lead Psychological Therapist, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality psychological therapies in HMP Northumberland. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based interventions and support individuals in achieving their recovery goals.

About the Role

  • To assess and support individuals with mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery.
  • To provide assessment and low-intensity interventions, implementing and supporting a range of evidence-based interventions utilising a self-management model of mental health care.
  • To work in partnership with other disciplines and maintain links with statutory and non-statutory agencies as appropriate.

Requirements

  • An advanced degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience of working in a supervisory role and significant post-qualification experience in offering and delivering the full range of evidence-based IAPT low-intensity interventions at Step 2.
  • A knowledge of assessment procedures, screening, referral, record-keeping, and evidence-based brief psychological interventions.
