Job Description:

This role will support the day-to-day operations of our depot, ensuring effective allocation of vehicles to deliver best-in-class service delivery. The successful candidate will also maintain Health and Safety standards, ensure environmental and O Licence compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate vehicles to optimize route efficiency and minimize delays
  • Manage driver availability and coverage to ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures
  • Perform administrative duties, including inputting pay and bonus data into our systems
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance, including liaison with fleet and monitoring vehicle gross weights
  • Supervise vehicle availability on a daily basis, ensuring drivers have completed their checks according to company policy
  • Contribute to ongoing cost control by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs
  • Ensure all administrative tasks associated with the dispatch office are completed, including time sheets, tachograph records, payroll records, holiday rotas, and resolution of QLS

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of the local area
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate in writing, one-on-one, and via phone with all levels, including management, team members, and internal/external customers
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively
  • Experience working to strict deadlines in a time-critical environment
  • A willingness to adapt and develop skill-sets and knowledge determined by the role/business
  • Computer literate, comfortable using business software and Microsoft Office Suite (specifically strong knowledge of Excel)

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £32,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus generous pension scheme, medical and dental scheme, retail and leisure discounts, holiday and travel discounts, bike-to-work scheme, and much more.
