Job Title: Human Factors Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Human Factors Engineer to join our team as a Human Factors Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with our Lead HFI Specialist to deliver User-Centred Design activities and support the TRINITY programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead HFI Specialist in conducting human factors activities and integrating HF into the TRINITY design
  • Work with end-user groups and HF stakeholders in workshops, trials, and User-Centred Design activities
  • Conduct analyses such as allocation of function, task analysis, and usability assessment
  • Assess prototypes/mock-ups of TRINITY hardware and software solutions
  • Produce reports and input to customer deliverables

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree or equivalent qualification in Human Factors, Ergonomics, or Psychology
  • Registered membership of the Chartered Institute of Human Factors (or eligibility for CIEHF Chartership via an equivalent body)
  • At least five years' experience of applying Human Factors methods in defence or safety-critical industry
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team on complex system integration and development projects

Additional Information:

The successful candidate will be required to attend the BAES Christchurch office for three days per week.
