Carpenter Job Description

Mountjoy is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team in Portsmouth. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for undertaking responsive and routine repairs and void repairs to Portsmouth City Council's Housing and Corporate Assets stock.

You will work in various property types, including Social Housing, Schools, Public Conveniences, Offices, Heritage, and Museums. Your role will involve using your skills, knowledge, experience, and training to carry out high-quality workmanship, ensuring health and safety, and compliance with the Company's processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fitting of various types of doors, first and second fixing, kitchen installations, ceramic wall tiling, vinyl floor tiling, and non-licenced asbestos removal.
  • Undertaking responsive and routine repairs and void repairs to Portsmouth City Council's Housing and Corporate Assets stock.
  • Supporting other maintenance contracts as required.

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 2-3 in carpentry or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in Social Housing or Building Maintenance environment preferred.
  • A full, clean current driving licence is needed.
