Adult Care Worker Position

We are seeking a dedicated Adult Care Worker to join our team at Two Saints. As a key member of our West Berkshire Homeless Service, you will provide vital support to adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
About the Role
This is a full-time position requiring 42 hours per week, working on a four-on, four-off rota pattern, including weekends and bank holidays. Your schedule will be from 7 pm to 7 am, allowing you to make a significant impact in the lives of our clients.
As an Adult Care Worker, your primary focus will be on providing person-centered support to empower clients to gain life skills for independent living. This role demands a passion for working with people and making a positive difference in their lives.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming and friendly face to clients entering our service.
- Offer informal support and serve as a listening ear to our clients.
- Respond promptly to incoming calls.
- Ensure client and visitor safety within our buildings, addressing any incidents that may arise and contacting external services when necessary.
- Monitor our service area using CCTV footage.
- Perform regular visual checks and fire checks on our buildings and car park, documenting any defects found.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by staff, referring issues to relevant personnel as needed.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and lone working, adhering to established procedures.
- Keep communal areas clean and tidy.
- Deliver detailed handovers to day staff regarding client safety and support information.
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
- Attend scheduled supervision, appraisal, and training sessions to enhance your performance.
- Provide basic First Aid assistance until professional help arrives, with comprehensive training provided.
- Triage out-of-hours issues and contact the on-call manager where applicable.
- Support colleagues managing the night service as required.
