Radiological Safety Consultant

RPS Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Safety Expert to join our Health, Safety & Risk business. As a Principal Radiological Safety Assessor, you will be responsible for delivering nuclear safety projects and tasks, ensuring they are on budget and meeting client satisfaction while taking the technical lead in the preparation of nuclear safety cases and supporting documentation.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement nuclear safety cases and supporting documentation
  2. Liaise with engineering, plant operators, and other specialist safety disciplines to present coherent and comprehensive safety cases
  3. Support clients in interaction with the regulator
  4. Maintain and develop lasting relationships with clients
  5. Manage teams of consultants to support project delivery
  6. Provide technical guidance and mentoring for more junior team members
  7. Recognise opportunities for business and service development

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Deep expertise in nuclear safety techniques, including safety case production and management
  • Excellent report writing skills and mentoring abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant UK regulations and standards
  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, e.g. Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control/Electrical Engineering
  • Sufficient and appropriate post-graduate relevant experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent customer service manner with strong listening and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
