Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reporting Sonographer or Vascular Scientist to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. As a Reporting Sonographer or Vascular Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting a range of ultrasound examinations, including obstetric, gynaecological, general abdominal, vascular, and other examinations as required.
You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide a high-quality service to patients, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results. Your expertise will be essential in supporting the training of student sonographers and contributing to the development of our ultrasound services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a range of ultrasound examinations, including obstetric, gynaecological, general abdominal, vascular, and other examinations as required.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting of results, ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients.
- Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide a high-quality service to patients.
- Support the training of student sonographers and contribute to the development of our ultrasound services.
- Participate in the safe transfer of patients and equipment within the department and hospital, using manual handling guidelines and risk assessment.
- Maintain knowledge of equipment to promote safe, effective, and efficient handling within the clinical setting, upholding COSHH (2002) and Health and Safety guidelines.
- Ultrasound case accredited course with experience or current student due to qualify.
- Working knowledge of Radiology Information Systems.
- MSC/PGD Ultrasound or Vascular Science Qualification or equivalent.
- Demonstrates IT literacy to an appropriate level.
- Demonstrates evidence of continuing professional education.
- General experience relevant to the post at degree level or equivalent.
- Experience of MDT working.
