Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Learning and Development Teacher to join our team in Amble. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the learning of pupils in our inspirational SEN Settings.

About the Role:

  1. Teach three KS3 aged pupils who are working at KS1 level.
  2. Plan and deliver engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils and enable all pupils to make progress.
  3. Work with 3 Secondary aged pupils within a SEN setting who have a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour.
  4. Develop positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
  5. Maintain positive and proactive behaviour management strategies.
  6. Ensure differentiated lessons meet the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
  7. Implement varied methods of assessment to monitor pupil progress.
  8. Exhibit high levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with children.
  9. Collaborate with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.

  • The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Amble.
  • The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range, offering opportunities to work with pupils across all year groups.

Benefits and Salary:

  • Salary: Estimated £145,000 - £180,000 per annum.
  • Hours: 08.30-16.00.
  • Contract: Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025.
  • Location: Amble.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but not essential).
  • QTS and teaching experience in either Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
  • Strong Behaviour Management skills.
  • Experience of assessing pupil progress using various methods.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards teaching and work.
  • Experience of teaching within the UK.
  • A genuine passion for teaching.
  • Effective organisational and communication skills.
