Senior Specialist in Neonatal Medicine

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Cardiology. This role is part of our expansion in neonatal care at The Royal London Hospital, where we have opened 45 cots to provide all levels of neonatal care.
The post will be for a period of 12 months with further extension depending on clinical performance. Training will be provided as appropriate for the individual in accordance with the syllabus for trainees in neonatal medicine following discussion with their educational supervisor.
A range of training opportunities will be available, including:
- Practical supervision
- Concise topic teaching two mornings per week
- A weekly academic ward round and case presentation/seminar
- Training in cranial ultrasound and echocardiography
- Specialist clinics: Neurodevelopmental/Respiratory/Cardiology
- Weekly general paediatric teaching sessions covering a wide range of topics
- Regular multidisciplinary simulation training

The ideal candidate will have at least 24 months paediatric experience and 6 months tertiary neonatal experience or 12 months neonatal experience in a level 2 unit at middle-grade level. Good experience in common paediatric and neonatal practical skills is also essential.
Personal qualities required include good clinical and theoretical knowledge in common paediatric diseases.
