Imperial College London: Clinical Research Fellow Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Fellow to join our team at the Centre for Perinatal Neuroscience. This is an excellent opportunity for a paediatrician to develop their clinical and research skills, working on exciting NIHR funded projects in neonatal medicine.

The successful candidate will be supervised by Professor Sudhin Thayyil and will have the opportunity to work with world-leading experts in one of the largest clinical research programs on birth-related brain injury (neonatal encephalopathy) in the world.

Two posts are available: a 3-year doctoral post leading a clinical trial of whole-body hypothermia for mild encephalopathy (COMET), and a 1-year pre-doctoral post working in ongoing research programs at the Centre for Perinatal Neuroscience.

To be eligible, you should have a degree in medicine (MBBS) and prior experience of working in paediatrics and neonatal medicine. Previous research and experience in various neonatal imaging techniques are desirable but not essential.

You will receive training in clinical trials and neonatal brain research, including publication and grant development, and access to Imperial Clinical Academic Training Office and NIHR Global Health Training programs.

A generous research training and travel bursary, as well as eligibility for a self-funded PhD fee with discounted fees, are available.

This opportunity offers a competitive salary of approximately £55,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as 39 days off a year and a generous pension scheme.
