Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Support Specialist to join our team at Grafham Water Center. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing support to families with disabled children and young people in Cambridgeshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work collaboratively with families, providing emotional and practical support to meet their individual needs.
- To develop and maintain strong relationships with families, understanding their aspirations and goals.
- To provide advocacy services, ensuring that families receive the necessary resources and support.
- To participate in community outreach programs, engaging with local communities and promoting the services offered by Grafham Water Center.
Requirements:
- A Diploma (or NVQ) at Level 2 in a Childcare-related subject or willingness to work towards it.
- Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities or adults with a disability.
- Understanding of professional boundaries, confidentiality, and safeguarding principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and stakeholders.
- A flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
