The Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the pharmacy department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of medication reconciliation and providing high-quality patient care.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on the challenge of working as a Senior Medication Technician. You will be responsible for undertaking medicines reconciliation, taking drug histories, and promoting one-stop dispensing.

You will work closely with the wards to ensure that patients receive the correct medications from the start of their hospital stay. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with community healthcare partners, ensuring seamless care for our patients.

In this role, you will have regular checking slots in the dispensary and will be involved in the management of medicines on the ward, audit, and financial savings projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake medicines reconciliation and take drug histories
  • Ensure accurate usage of patients' own medication
  • Promote one-stop dispensing
  • Work with wards to ensure timely TTOs are dispensed prior to discharge
  • Communicate effectively with community colleagues
Requirements
  • Registered technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician
  • Post-qualification UK hospital experience
  • Patient counselling experience
  • Multidisciplinary team work
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including a pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for professional development.
