Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our busy Finance team in Gosport. The role involves providing an accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll service via our outsourced payroll provider. This includes collating payroll data, verifying its accuracy, and performing clerical accounting procedures. Additionally, you will assist the Purchase Ledger and Finance team with tasks such as scanning supplier invoices, collecting post, raising ad-hoc payments and invoices, managing expenses, and handling company credit cards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collate payroll data and verify its accuracy before payment is made.
- Act as the central point for all internal payroll queries and be responsible for pension administration with trustees.
- Perform clerical accounting procedures, make standard calculations, and assist with some HR tasks.
Additional Tasks:
- Assist the Purchase Ledger and Finance team by scanning supplier invoices, collecting post, raising ad-hoc payments and invoices, managing expenses, and handling company credit cards.
- Perform monthly tasks such as making payroll accruals, reconciling payroll-related balance sheet accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of payroll data within financial accounts.
Requirements:
- Experience in administration, ideally with previous payroll experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Extensive skills using Microsoft packages, including strong skills in MS Excel, and experience with in-house time and attendance systems would be advantageous.
- A flexible team player with strong communication and organizational skills.
Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
