The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, paying, and recovering housing and council tax benefits. They will also deal with customer and stakeholder enquiries, providing advice and information via various channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and process benefit claims, ensuring accurate and timely payments
  • Deal with customer enquiries, providing guidance and support
  • Liaise with other sections and external agencies to resolve complex cases
  • Identify and recover unpaid local taxes and benefit overpayments
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a revenues and benefits capacity is essential
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize workload, meeting set targets within tight deadlines
  • Desirable: Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation Technician qualification
