Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing a range of speech, language, and communication difficulties in children and young people.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a strong background in speech and language therapy, with experience in assessing and managing complex cases. You will work autonomously to develop and implement treatment plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for our patients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and diagnosing speech, language, and communication difficulties in children and young people
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans to address these difficulties
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients
  • Supporting and mentoring less experienced therapists, students, and assistants
  • Participating in clinical audit and research to improve practice and outcomes
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a related field
  • Registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience in assessing and managing complex cases
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
