Construction Planning Expert

This is an exciting opportunity to join Galliford Try as a Construction Planning Expert, where you will play a key role in providing construction planning support to live and onsite projects.
As part of our award-winning Trainee Programme, you will develop your technical skills, meet new people, and gain an academic qualification. Our programme is designed to give you a valuable, hands-on experience where you will bring out your interpersonal and leadership skills.
Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
About the Job
You will be responsible for assisting with tender/pre-construction programmes, managing enquiries for temporary services, fencing, security etc. You will also interpret programmes and create phasing drawings using Microsoft Powerpoint. Additionally, you will visit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be taken into account when preparing tender programmes and method statements.
Responsibilities:
- Gain an understanding of Project management, Logistics and Sequencing.
- Ascertain and report progress on live projects, utilising Asta Powerproject and associated SiteProgress mobile app.
- Update trackers and trial the introduction of new software, where appropriate.
- Assist with tender/pre-construction programmes, managing enquiries for temporary services, fencing, security etc.
- Interpreting programmes and creating phasing drawings (in Microsoft Powerpoint) including logistics/constraints/plant/access etc.
- Visit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be taken into account when preparing tender programmes and method statements.
- Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders and third parties to establish optimum, compliant programmes.
- Collate/Assist/Support in the production of As-Built records.
- Assist with the production of clear and concise statements describing the programme strategy and construction methodology.
- Develop an understanding of Preliminaries Assessment.
- Become familiar with the Galliford Try BMS and Information Management systems.
