Job Title: Head of Nature Discovery Centres

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Nature Discovery Centres across Essex. As the Head of Nature Discovery Centres, you will be responsible for the operation of our 11 Nature Discovery Centres, engaging and inspiring communities to protect our wildlife and wild places, and generating income for the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the operation of the Nature Discovery Centres, ensuring they meet their objectives and contribute to the Trust's overall mission.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and inspire communities, promoting the value of the Trust's work and encouraging involvement in delivering meaningful change to protect nature and wildlife.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director, Cluster Managers, Central Operations Manager, and Nature Discovery Centres staff to drive the successful operations of the Nature Discovery Centres.
  • Build relationships across the organisation, communicating effectively with stakeholders and influencing key decisions.
  • Manage budgets and finances, ensuring the Nature Discovery Centres operate efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record in growing businesses in the hospitality and/or retail sector.
  • Strong focus on customer service and entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organisation.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience of managing budgets and finances.
  • Ability to work closely with the Conservation teams at the Nature Discovery Centres.
