Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full-time permanent position, with a salary range of £29,970.00 to £36,483.00 per year.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of nursing care methods and models, as well as previous experience working within an NHS environment. They will also have the ability to administer IV drugs and identify priorities.

The ideal candidate will be able to provide clinical leadership within the ward area and maintain a high standard of evidence-based patient-centered care. They will also be able to communicate verbally and electronically to a high standard, including in situations of conflict and distress.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. To assist and facilitate patient flow for wards and patients in a timely discharge process.
  2. To provide direction, supervision, and control to team members in order to deliver patient care and services that meet individual needs.
  3. To support and assist Discharge Lounge staff in day-to-day management and contribute to a positive care environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Nursing professional registration.
  • Good understanding of nursing care methods and models.
  • Previous experience working within an NHS environment.
  • Able to administer IV drugs.
  • Ability to identify priorities.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills.
