We are currently seeking a Commissioning Director to join our team in London, UK. As an employee-owner, you will have the opportunity to lead and coordinate business development initiatives, nurturing and growing commissioning services within the HDR group business sectors and new business areas.

The primary objective of this role is to take ownership of reporting requirements, including speculative, pipeline, receipt, and analysis of RFI/RFP's PQQ's/contracts, Go-No Go decision input, lead/support tenders, contract negotiations & award, to service execution, contract extensions, and renewals. Additionally, you will provide technical subject matter expertise in writing bespoke client environment application solutions often in unique, first-of-a-kind, leading-edge project opportunities.

Beyond your technical skills, you will assist in developing and implementing our growth strategy, focusing on existing and new clients, market sectors, and regions. Your tasks include:

  • Maintaining profitable business growth as per targets
  • Identifying and executing new sectors and opportunities diligently qualified to firm order
  • Developing and clearly communicating new opportunities to all internal stakeholders using the HDR matrix of engagement
  • Maintaining our new business pipeline

You will conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs, ensuring our business is well-placed to service these new requirements. You will arrange business meetings with prospective clients, promote our company's products/services addressing or predicting clients' objectives, and work with our Commercial Lead and relevant internal stakeholders to prepare new business PQQ's/RFI/contracts.

This role requires a degree in Engineering or a related field, supporting marketing degree, considerable experience demonstrating commercial management/new business development skills, and membership in professional organizations like RICS, CIBSE, ASHRAE. Minimum 10 years' experience in Mechanical & Electrical plant, ideally within the construction industry, specifically in building services, working within company commercial policies and procedures at a senior level is necessary.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £65,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, with additional benefits such as employee ownership, flexibility, and a supportive work environment.
