PCN Paramedic Specialist

About the Role
The PCN Paramedic Specialist will support primary care to deliver high-quality patient services as part of a Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) across our three GP practices. This may include Home Visiting, clinic working, and patient caseload management.
The post holder will work within the community, providing a holistic approach for individuals, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, to deliver quality patient services.
The successful candidate will be line managed by the Practice Manager and clinically managed by the Clinical Director.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake the collection of pathological specimens, including intravenous blood samples, swabs, etc.
- Complete individual administration and professional responsibilities.
- Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team.
- Ensure accurate and legible notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients' notes.
- Ensure the clinical computer system is kept up to date, with accurate details recorded and amended.
- Ensure appropriate items of service claims are made accurately, reporting any problems to the practice administrator.
- Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient healthcare and registration with the practice.
- Ensure collection and maintenance of statistical information required for regular and ad hoc reports and audit.
- Attend and participate in practice meetings as required.
- Restocking and maintenance of clinical areas and consulting rooms.
Person Specification
Essential
- Active and relevant professional registration with HCPC.
- BSc or IHCD or above in Paramedic Science.
- Evidence of relevant CPD.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic IT Skills.
- Evidence of commitment to own personal and professional development.
- Ability to manage and prioritize workload.
- Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the Primary Care Network.
- Understanding health education/promotion.
- Understanding of Clinical Governance and its significance and impact upon practice.
- Awareness of equality and valuing diversity principles.
- UK driving license, with exclusive access to a vehicle.
- Knowledge of HEE Roadmap to Practice and what an ARRS Paramedic is.
Desirable
- Experience or working in a primary or urgent care setting.
- Experience of working in a GP practice.
- Independent Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification.
- Knowledge/use of primary care IT software EMIS.
- First Contact Practitioner in Primary Care.
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
- Knowledge of primary and community healthcare.
