Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Garage Mechanic to join our Mobile Plant Maintenance team in Rotherham. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse range of mobile plants and equipment.

About the Role

  • Maintain and repair HGVs, trailers, mobile cranes, forklifts, and specialized heavy industrial vehicles used in the steelmaking industry.
  • Offer mechanical and basic electrical maintenance services, including fault-finding on mobile plant equipment.
  • Perform MOT preparation, annual servicing, and breakdown repairs on-site vans.

Requirements

  • BTEC, NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of experience in vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of safe working procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Methodical approach to work, excellent fault-finding abilities, strong communication skills, and attention to detail.
