About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Manager to join our team at Boots Online Doctor. As the in-house expert for regulatory and professional standards, you will play a critical role in ensuring our governance processes and procedures meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all quality and compliance documentation is up-to-date and accurately maintained across the business.
  • Lead the Boots Digital Health business in data protection, including DPIAs and privacy policy adjustments, supported by the central DPO's office.
  • Align the compliance approach at Boots Digital Health with the wider Boots business, working as an extension of the central team.
  • Support internal audit and regulatory inspection requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, Dep. Medical Director, Registered Manager, IT Governance lead, and Boots data protection and compliance teams to harmonize expertise and decision-making.
  • Represent Boots Digital Health as a data steward within the wider Boots business.
  • Support the Dep. Medical Director with clinical governance activity through close communication and shared project work.
  • Conduct audits and self-inspections to identify opportunities for improvement and prepare the team for regulatory inspections.
  • Develop and continually improve Standard Operating Procedures and policies to meet gold standards.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a compliance or governance manager.
  • In-depth knowledge of standards and regulations within a regulated industry, preferably in healthcare.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
  • Proven ability to understand complex problems and facilitate solutions.
  • Comfortable navigating and influencing senior stakeholders to ensure risks are given due attention and appropriate decision-making is achieved for the business.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with sound attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy and limited supervision.
  • Self-starter with the ability to create structure from ambiguity and operate with limited oversight.
Desirable Skills
  • Understanding of the remote/telemedicine landscape in the UK.
  • Experience partnering with regulatory bodies to discuss industry standards and changes.
