Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry

Cygnet Hospital Harrow is seeking an exceptional Specialty Doctor to join our multidisciplinary team in psychiatry. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to shape services and progress your career to Consultant level through our prestigious CESR programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist
- Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations of service users
- Participate in weekly ward rounds and attend multidisciplinary meetings
- Attend Care Programme Approach and Section 117 meetings and mental health review tribunals
- Provide up-to-date clinical information at all meetings
- Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned
- Audit medical services and ensure compliance with GMC and other professional guidelines
- Uphold policies and procedures and contribute to service governance and development
- Participate in 1:7 On-call rota

Requirements:
- Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
- Experienced within a mental health setting
- Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledgeable of mental health legislation and codes of practice
- An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgment and ability to manage risk
- A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear, comprehensive medical notes
- Committed to continued professional development
- Preferably approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent
