Job Title: Respiratory Registrar

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Respiratory Registrar to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a Respiratory Registrar, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer.
  • Conduct thorough clinical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide ongoing care and monitoring for patients with chronic respiratory conditions, ensuring optimal management of symptoms and prevention of exacerbations.
  • Manage respiratory patients admitted to the hospital, including those in general medical wards, respiratory units, and ICUs.
  • Participate in daily ward rounds, develop and implement care plans, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Respond to acute respiratory emergencies, provide resuscitation and stabilization, and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Perform a variety of respiratory procedures, such as bronchoscopy, pleural aspiration, chest drain insertion, and thoracentesis, under the supervision of senior respiratory physicians.
Requirements:
  • Valid GMC registration
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Minimum of 3-6 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
