About the Role

In this critical position, you will lead the development of safety-critical equipment, working closely with designers and engineers to ensure high-quality output. You will be responsible for technical leadership, expert advice, and guidance to colleagues, helping them develop their skills and expertise.

Your Key Responsibilities

">
  • Deliver complex steel structure analysis utilising Eurocodes, British Standards, and BAE standards for submarine build projects.
  • Leverage computer-based analytical techniques, including finite element analysis, CAD modelling, and engineering schematics (Abaqus, S-Frame), to drive process efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling, and installation teams to ensure seamless delivery of safety-critical equipment.
  • Maintain LOLER, codes of compliance, weld specifications, and geometric tolerance standards throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Need

To succeed in this challenging role, you will need:

  • An engineering degree (BEng/MEng or equivalent) or HND with significant industry experience.
  • Advanced structural steel analysis expertise.
  • A deep understanding of mechanical engineering, structural steelwork, lifting handling, and LOLER principles.
  • Proficiency in software tools, including ABAQUS, Foran, MathCAD, and Excel.
  • Experience in a production environment, particularly in marine production settings.
