About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Knee Fellow to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our Orthopaedic department, you will play a vital role in providing advanced clinical and surgical training in knee arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, and joint replacement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality clinical care to patients requiring knee surgery as part of our multidisciplinary team.
  • Cover additional operating lists made vacant by annual and study leave.
  • Organise and run departmental teaching sessions to support the training and development of junior staff.
  • Contribute to the long-term follow-up of patients, working closely with the outcomes team to support one outpatient clinic weekly.
  • Participate in research studies, audit, and unit meetings to contribute to the advancement of orthopaedic care.
  • Maintain the clinical dataset and submit papers to peer-reviewed journals.
  • Work closely with the departmental team, including clerical, secretarial, and other Trust staff, to ensure the delivery of a coordinated and consistent operational management service.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • 84 months' experience after full GMC registration or equivalent, with evidence of achievement of foundation competences.
    • 5 years' experience in orthopaedics from the start of registrar (ST) or equivalent training.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience of working in a knee firm, with developed arthroscopic skills.
