Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at a PMLD school in Colchester. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with special educational needs and be able to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our students.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons and interventions to students with special educational needs
  • Providing individual and small group support to students, both in and out of the classroom
  • Assisting with physical and personal care needs, as required
  • Contribution to the development of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for students
  • Assisting with record keeping and monitoring of students' progress

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working with children with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the class teacher
  • Patience and empathy
  • A commitment to continuing professional development
