About You

We are looking for a highly skilled Expert Linear Infrastructure Consultant to join our team in the UK. The successful candidate will have experience working on major linear infrastructure projects in the UK, including steel transmission pipelines and plastic ducts for subsequent power cable installation.

Key responsibilities will include:

\
  • \
  • Designing transmission pipelines to industry and regulator standards\
  • Conducting constructability assessments associated with linear infrastructure projects\
  • Liaising with other departments and project teams within the company with respect to design requirements\
  • Representing the design department, when necessary, at internal and external meetings\
  • Developing design estimates for inclusion in the overall submission\
  • Coaching and mentoring individual staff members with professional development\
  • Supporting the bid teams with technical input into tender submissions\
  • Managing team workloads and accurately recording time spent on projects\
  • Collating feedback on designs as required\
  • Undertaking site visits when required\
  • Leading design risk assessments\
  • Authoring, checking and approving of technical design reports\
  • Project reporting and coordination of design activities within the engineering team\
  • Providing technical support to clients throughout the planning application process\
  • Pipeline installation engineering associated with linear infrastructure projects\
  • Pre-FEED and FEED studies associated with major pipeline/power cable infrastructure projects in the UK, \
  • Pipeline routing design in coordination with the geospatial team\
  • Supporting consent requirements associated with rail, road and watercourse crossings\
  • Familiarity with geospatial analysis software such as ArcGIS or QGIS\
  • Excellent technical report writing skills\
  • Familiarity with construction plant & equipment used to install steel pipelines and plastic cable ducts\
  • Some awareness and understanding of environmental restrictions in the UK
