About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to lead our orthopaedic nursing team at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our wards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership
    • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
    • Lead and manage a team of nurses to deliver excellent patient care and outcomes.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee the day-to-day running of the ward, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective management of staff.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient flow and reduce waiting times.
    • Manage budgets and resources to ensure effective use of hospital resources.
  • Education and Development
    • Develop and implement education and training programs for nursing staff.
    • Collaborate with the education team to ensure that nursing staff receive high-quality training and development opportunities.
    • Support the development of nursing staff to achieve their full potential.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with a minimum of 4 years post-registration experience.
    • Postgraduate qualification in nursing leadership or management.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Proven leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
