Job Opportunity at The University of Manchester

A 16-month research position is available in the Department of Materials, working under the supervision of Dr Jessica Boland as part of a £1.7M EPSRC project.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves characterising nanostructures using terahertz spectroscopy and SNOM techniques. As part of a world-leading team, you will contribute to the development of a sustainable high-resolution route to nanofabrication through direct write ion beam lithography.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on multiple breakthroughs in manufacturing, enabling large-scale production of semiconductor devices with resolutions < 5 nm. This achievement will significantly improve our understanding of targeted materials and accelerate academic research.

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • PhD in physics or electronic engineering or a related field
  • Desirable experience in terahertz spectroscopy or SNOM
