About the Role

This is a full-time General Adult Psychiatrist position, working in Bournemouth. The post holder will work full-time within the Turbary Park Sector of Bournemouth West Locality Community Mental Health Team, which provides comprehensive community-based services to patients registered with general practitioners within Bournemouth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive community-based services to patients.
  • Take part in the on-call rota, with a weekly on-call rota that is Dorset-wide.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health services in Dorset.
  • Work closely with primary care and community services to provide seamless care to patients.

Requirements
  • General medical qualification, e.g. MBBS, or equivalent and hold a Licence to Practise.
  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent, e.g. membership of a psychiatry college in another country.
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or ability to obtain approval before starting post.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • Additional clinical qualification.
  • Experience of medicine outside psychiatry, e.g. general practice, medicine.
