About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Custody Detention Officer to join our team at Mitie. As a key member of our custody suite team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of detainees, while also providing exceptional support to our police partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care and support to detainees, including escorting them to and from court and other appointments
  • Work closely with police officers and other agencies to ensure the smooth operation of the custody suite
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop individual care plans to meet the needs of detainees
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident reports and detainee information
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a custody or detention environment is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with detainees, police officers, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle
