About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Custody Detention Officer. As a key member of our custody suite team, you will play a vital role in supporting the police and providing care to detainees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support detainees during their time in custody, providing physical and mental healthcare and wellbeing needs.
  • Escort detainees and make recorded observations as per their individual plan.
  • Work with colleagues and the police to deal with detainees who are a risk of harming themselves.
  • Provide a safe and respectful environment for detainees.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within the police/security/armed forces would be beneficial, but we will train you in full on an Initial Training Course.
  • Competent in IT and using a computer.
  • Full valid driving licence.
  • Lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Have valid British passport/settled status.
  • All candidates are subject to police vetting checks - clean driving/criminal record is essential.

Training and Development

Once you have passed our selection and vetting process, you will begin your Police Services career by completing a 3-week initial training course (ITC) Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm on FULL PAY. You will then have continued development opportunities.
