About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Custody Detention Officer. As a key member of our custody suite team, you will play a vital role in supporting the police and providing care to detainees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support detainees during their time in custody, ensuring their physical and mental health needs are met.
  • Work closely with police officers and other agencies to promote rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.
  • Complete forensic samples and provide administrative support as required.
  • Develop strong relationships with detainees, building trust and confidence.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful team environment, promoting a culture of excellence and customer service.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a related field, such as the police, security, or armed forces, is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with vulnerable individuals.
  • Basic IT skills and proficiency in using a computer.
  • Full valid driving license and ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to pass police vetting checks and maintain a clean driving record.
