We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Social Worker to join a well-established Adults service based in Chelmsford, working as part of a dynamic team.

About the Team

This is a full-time, 3-month locum position with a competitive hourly rate of £27.60. The team is known for their expertise in providing high-quality social care services and supporting individuals with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide social care service and exemplar social work practice ensuring that excellence of service is provided across the department.
  • Contribute to change management, concluding ECC's transformation and ensuring it is configured for continuous improvement adhering to the Key Performance Indicators as provided by ECC under the Section 75 partnership agreement.
  • Provide support and guidance to our community mental health nurses and taking the lead on key aspects of patient care.
  • Lead and offer support to health colleagues in relation to S.117 needs and reviews, alongside completing Care Act Assessments and MCA's, and arranging funded care following these assessments.

Requirements of the Candidate:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work.
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant frontline experience in Adults Services.
  • Mental Health experience and knowledge of the Care Act.
  • An in-depth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
  • The ability to make clear decisions, to highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.
  • A driving licence and car are essential for this role due to the requirement to travel around Essex and beyond.
