Exciting Opportunity for a SEND Senior Case Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEND Senior Case Manager to join our dynamic SEND Team within Children's Services at Wokingham Borough Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development journey of our SEND Team, making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

About the Role

As a SEND Senior Case Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of SEND Casework Practitioners, overseeing all aspects of the SEND journey, from EHC needs assessments to annual reviews. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including children and young people, their families, and educational settings, to ensure collaborative working and the promotion of safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct line management of SEND Casework Practitioners, responsible for all aspects of the SEND journey.
  • Developing and managing high-quality EHCPs and case work, through participation in an innovative SEND Audit programme.
  • Deputising for the SEND Practice Manager when required, with opportunities for career development.
  • Attendance at weekly Multi-Disciplinary decision-making forums, making informed decisions for our children and young people.
  • Working in partnership to build strong and proactive relationships with all stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Ability to manage and deal with complex case work, managing multiple cases.
  • Thorough knowledge of SEN(D) Code of Practice and Children and Families Act.
  • Extensive experience of working within a dynamic and busy SEND Team.
  • Experience of line managing, including both established Team members and inducting new colleagues.
