We are seeking an experienced and versatile Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Hospice at Home team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a minimum of 30 hours is required for this role.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will work under the supervision of a Community Clinical Nurse Specialist to:
- Develop and implement high standards of palliative care for patients and their carers in the community setting.
- Participate in clinical and education activities related to developing specialist palliative care in the community.
- Sustain and develop relationships between The Princess Alice Hospice Community Team and Primary Healthcare Teams.
- Identify and develop personal objectives relevant to developing professional practice for this role.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Flexible and motivated approach.
- Pleasant and calm manner.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong team working skills.
- Full driving licence and car.
- Awareness of and commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of the Hospice.
The following qualifications and experience are desirable:
- Post-registration experience.
- Palliative care, oncology or community experience.
- Interest in research and audit.
- Experience in mentoring and clinical supervision.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Knowledge of current healthcare and nursing policy and provision.
- Understanding of specialist palliative care provision.
The post holder will be required to:
- Work under the supervision of a Community Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Participate in on-call rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
