Clinical Nurse Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Hospice at Home team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a minimum of 30 hours required for this role.
The role offers a bespoke training package over a six-month to twelve-month period to develop into the role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The position will start as a Band 6, with a review of the banding to be considered after the training.
Main Responsibilities
- Promote, plan, and facilitate the delivery of high standards of palliative care to patients and their carers in the community setting.
- Participate in clinical and education activities related to developing specialist palliative care in the community.
- Sustain and develop the relationship between The Princess Alice Hospice Hospice Community Team and the Primary Healthcare Teams and others involved in caring for the patients/families receiving palliative care support.
- Identify written personal objectives, relevant to developing professional practice for this role.

- Post registration experience.
- Palliative care, oncology, or community experience.
- Interest in research/audit.
- Experience in mentoring P2k and post-basic student.
- Clinical supervision experience.
- Community experience.
Specialist Knowledge
Essential
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Knowledge of current healthcare and nursing policy and provision.
- Understanding of specialist palliative care provision.
Qualifications
Essential
- Current NMC Registration/registered.
- RGN qualification.
- Teaching qualification (ENB 998 or equivalent).
- Relevant degree or diploma or in the process of undertaking same.
- Palliative Care Diploma or equivalent.
- Community qualification.
- Palliative Care Degree.
