Clinical Nurse Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality specialist palliative care to patients with complex needs, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery. This will involve assessing patients' needs, developing and implementing care plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families.
The postholder will also be responsible for leading and managing a team of nurses, providing clinical supervision and guidance, and contributing to the development of nursing policies and procedures.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in research and audit activities, contribute to the development of new services and initiatives, and maintain accurate records and reports.
Requirements- Current NMC registration
- Palliative Care Diploma or equivalent
- Teaching qualification
- Relevant degree/diploma/module at masters level or in the process of undertaking same
- Community qualification
- Palliative Care Degree
- Physical assessment skills
- Non-medical prescriber (V300)
- Evidence of highly developed communication skills both written and verbal
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to work effectively in an emotionally demanding environment
- Leadership capabilities
- Clinical assessment and evaluation
- Organisational skills
- Ability to influence change
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Knowledge of current healthcare and nursing policy and provision
- Understanding of specialist palliative care provision
- Awareness of and commitment to the mission and values of the Hospice
- Palliative care or oncology experience.
- Interest in research/audit
- Community experience
- Experience in mentoring students
- Clinical supervision experience
