William College is a leading educational institution dedicated to providing excellent academic programs. We are currently seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Board of Governors and contribute their expertise in HR, Finance or Quality Assurance, Standards, and Governance.

Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to shape the future of William College. The successful candidate will have a strong background in governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning, and be able to provide guidance and support to the Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic planning and development, ensuring William College's long-term success and sustainability.
  • Contribute to the development of William College's mission, vision, and strategic goals, and monitor implementation of such.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Governors and Senior Leadership Team to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Ensure effective governance and compliance, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency.
Governance and Compliance Frameworks
  • Develop and implement robust governance frameworks and policies, ensuring adherence to best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and review governance procedures, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, financial, and educational standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
Board and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Chair Board meetings, facilitating effective communication and collaboration among members.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, building strong relationships with the Senior Leadership Team, staff, students, alumni, and external groups.
  • Represent William College at external events and forums, promoting its interests and enhancing its reputation.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within the higher education sector.
  • Strong understanding of governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage diverse teams, driving collaboration and innovation.

  • Estimated salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
