About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Energy Industry Analyst to join our team at National Grid plc. As a key member of our Whole Energy Modelling team, you will play a critical role in analysing and modelling the UK's energy sector to inform our strategic advice and recommendations to government and industry.

With a strong understanding of the energy sector, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis and research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges. Your expertise will be used to develop and maintain complex models and scenarios to inform our whole energy insights and responses to requests for advice, analysis, and information.

You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop the overall scope, assumptions, and parameters for each project, and then develop the scenarios and conduct the studies required to inform the project. Your findings will be shared with the wider Strategy and Policy directorate, and you will be expected to provide guidance and training to more junior team members within the Whole Energy Modelling team.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who is passionate about the energy sector and has a strong analytical mindset. If you are a skilled energy sector analyst with a passion for modelling and analysis, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis and research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the energy sector.
  • Develop and maintain complex models and scenarios to inform whole energy insights and responses to requests for advice, analysis, and information.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop the overall scope, assumptions, and parameters for each project.
  • Develop scenarios and conduct studies required to inform the project.
  • Share findings with the wider Strategy and Policy directorate.
  • Provide guidance and training to more junior team members within the Whole Energy Modelling team.

What You'll Get

We offer a competitive salary between £52,000 and £65,000pa, dependent on experience and capability. You will also receive a bonus based on company performance, 26 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
