About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our Accommodation Office team at National Grid Electricity Distribution. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving performance and supporting the business with work volumes to ensure excellent customer service is delivered to our 8 million customers.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to think and plan ahead. You will be responsible for ensuring your team's adherence to Health and Safety regulations, efficient scheduling of work activities, collaboration with other teams to manage workload, and driving team productivity and individual performance management.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Ensure your team's adherence to Health and Safety regulations

  5. Maintaining a full schedule of work for the team
  6. Ensure our people have the appropriate training and work authorisations to support a safe and productive working environment

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will be an excellent communicator with a proven track record of managing teams, and will be experienced in being an escalation point for both the team and external customers.

  1. The ability to develop a good understanding of Health and Safety legislation, Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 and Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  2. Organised, with strong problem-solving and the ability to think and plan ahead
  3. Good communicator with the presence to build strong relationships with our customers
  4. An understanding of and the ability to effectively manage performance
  5. Knowledge of craft roles or the ability/willingness to quickly develop your understanding of these roles and the work activities in your team
  6. A NRSWA qualification or understanding of NRSWA legislation is desirable but full training can be provided.
