As a Regional Planning Manager at Avant Homes, you will support the Land, Technical and Commercial teams to develop, agree, implement and deliver the regions land acquisition and development requirements through successfully advising on and gaining planning approvals that meet the Region's business plan and future growth requirements.

Key duties and requirements

You will also be responsible for but not limited to;

  • Providing the technical and land teams with operational & tactical land appraisal planning reports, assessments presenting clear and reasoned planning advice in terms of potential risks/opportunities and likely planning gain requirements.
  • Working closely with regional teams and third-party providers to ensure that planning applications are prepared in accordance with Local Authority requirements.
  • Managing the regional planning application process through direct liaison with the Local Planning Authority.
  • Proactively identifying, under the guidance of the Land and Commercial Directors to negotiate planning gain contributions.
  • Managing the drafting and completion of all section agreements with the Local Authority and legal team.
  • Managing the compliance and coordination on the discharge of planning conditions.
  • Providing key status, project information, assessments, analysis and recommendations in relation to all planning matters, take action to mitigate planning risk, protect land acquisition, site start development targets and KPIs.
  • Monitoring and reporting on both local and national planning policy changes and movements.
  • Engaging in the process of determining, agreeing & delivering site start programmes so that planning matters are not a risk to meeting the agreed timescales.
  • Providing effective & relevant planning reports and documentation for each development or phase of development.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful as our Regional Planning Manager, you will be able to evidence your previous success on delivering planning requirements.

To be considered for the role you will currently be working within a Town Planning discipline with a minimum of 2 years' experience. You will currently be working for either a private sector consultancy, housebuilder or local authority where you will have gained diverse experience in planning management and securing commercially deliverable planning approvals.

We are also open to receiving applications from senior candidates who are experts in the planning field and an effective business/project delivery manager.
