Senior Standards Verifier Role

As a Senior Standards Verifier, you will play a crucial role in maintaining national standards within the Dental Technology sector. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that assessment outcomes, assessment, and internal verification processes meet national occupational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake sampling of candidates' work to verify that assessment outcomes meet national occupational standards
  • Hold sector-specific responsibility for interpretation of national occupational standards and evidence requirements
  • Offer specialist advice and support to centres and Standards Verifiers in relation to the content and interpretation of specifications, assessment, and delivery
  • Provide support, advice, guidance, and development to Standards Verifiers
  • Review SV reports to comment on the maintenance of national standards
  • Identify and escalate issues of adverse standards interpretation
  • Undertake a proactive role in maintaining national standards
  • Edit materials for the standardization of centre assessors, internal verifiers, and lead internal verifiers and centre training as required
  • Develop the content for the training and standardization of SVs
  • Lead and deliver training events to centres and SVs as required

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Substantial recent experience of external verification of qualifications within the sector
  • Minimum of one academic year's worth of teaching experience within the Dental Technology sector within the last 8 years since qualifying as a teacher
  • Significant experience in delivering and assessing
  • Registered with the General Dental Council
  • Higher level assessment and delivery experience across a range of qualifications as relevant to the sector
  • Be an A Grade Associate (from Performance Management monitoring)
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in the field of assessment and delivery of Dental Technology
