BTEC Nationals - Dental Technology - Senior Standards Verifier Role

At Pearson, we are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Standards Verifier to play a key role in the development and delivery of our BTEC National qualifications in Dental Technology. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a passion for education and a deep understanding of the dental technology sector.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain the standards for the assessment of dental technology qualifications, ensuring they meet the needs of the sector and are fit for purpose.
  2. Work closely with centres and standards verifiers to provide guidance and support on the interpretation and application of standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all assessments.
  3. Conduct regular sampling of candidates' work to verify that assessment outcomes and internal verification processes meet national occupational standards.
  4. Hold sector-specific responsibility for the interpretation of national occupational standards and evidence requirements, providing specialist advice and support to centres and standards verifiers.
  5. Review and comment on standards verifier reports to ensure maintenance of national standards, identifying and escalating any issues of adverse standards interpretation.

Requirements

  • Substantial recent experience of external verification of qualifications within the sector, with a strong understanding of national occupational standards and evidence requirements.
  • Minimum of one academic year's worth of teaching experience within the dental technology sector within the last 8 years since qualifying as a teacher.
  • Significant experience in delivering and assessing qualifications, with a proven track record of maintaining national standards.
  • Registered with the General Dental Council and holding a relevant professional qualification.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in the field of assessment and delivery of dental technology qualifications.
