We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who present with SEMH and other SEN, providing individualized support and guidance to help them reach their full potential.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with special educational needs and be able to build strong relationships with children who struggle to engage in lessons. They will also be able to de-escalate challenging situations and contribute to the wider goals of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils in the classroom and using the outdoor space
  • Leading small group interventions with pupils working below age expected levels
  • Liaising with senior members of staff around progress of the pupils
  • Contributing towards the wider goals of the school

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working with special educational needs
  • Ability to build relationships with children who struggle to engage in lessons
