About the Role:

GSL Education - Leicester is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work with SEN children in a local mainstream primary school. The role is on a day-to-day basis, Monday to Friday, and may involve receiving a call on the day of work between 7am and 7:30am to confirm attendance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build trusting relationships with students using a restorative approach.
  • Support students with complex mental health and emotional needs.
  • Help demonstrate the value of education to students.
  • Assist in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure each student receives the necessary care and guidance.
  • Work one-to-one with students offering extra support.

Requirements:
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 or equivalent.
  • A sincere passion for working with children who have special educational needs.
  • The ability to build strong, comfort-based relationships with students.
  • A genuine interest in understanding the challenges faced by young people with special educational needs.
